Volunteer Fairfax, in partnership with Fairfax County’s Office of Emergency Management, the Department of Neighborhood and Community Services, Faith Community in Action, has successfully completed the pilot initiative of the Fairfax County Community for Collaboration for Disaster Resiliency Program! Through a 2013 Urban Area Security Initiatives (UASI) grant, community partners in three county districts have learned and practiced how to best mobilize their capacity and resources in times of disasters. Volunteer Fairfax proudly presents our Youth Advisory Board for 2014-15. Our YAB members (12 students from 10 different high schools) will work with VF throughout the school year on special projects and they will blog each month on various topics.
